After weeks of intense competition, the VCT Pacific Stage 2 group stage ended with Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) defeating Team Secret to secure a place in the next phase. The Indonesian roster completed a 2-1 reverse sweep on the final day of Week 4 to claim the last playoff spot.
RRQ Keeps Their Champions Dream Alive; Claims Final Group Alpha Playoff Spot
Week 4 of VCT Pacific Stage 2 concluded the group stage, as Group Alpha teams battled to secure a place in the next phase. On August 10, Rex Regum Qeon faced Team Secret in a decisive match for the final playoff spot, with both squads fighting to keep their hopes of reaching VALORANT Champions Paris alive.
The series opened on Ascent, where Rex Regum Qeon controlled the first half with a solid defence to take a 9-3 lead. But after the side switch, Team Secret rallied behind Kelly Kent "KellyS" Sedillo and Nguyễn "Nizzy" Tấn Thành, stopping their opponents and forcing overtime to claim a 15-13 win. Despite the close opener, RRQ dominated the next two maps, taking Icebox 13-7 and Sunset 13-3.
Nongshim RedForce Qualify, Group Alpha Playoff Bracket Set
Nongshim RedForce secured the other playoff berth from Group Alpha with a solid 2-0 win over Gen.G on August 8. DRX claimed the group's top seed later that day by defeating Global Esports, earning a bye into the first round of the next stage.
In Group Omega, Paper Rex secured the top seed with a 2-0 victory over TALON, earning a bye past the first stage of the playoffs. T1 sent DetonatioN FocusMe to the lower bracket of the next stage with 13-6 and 13-9 wins on Sunset and Haven, respectively.
After being eliminated, ZETA DIVISION showed signs of improvement, ending Paper Rex's unbeaten run in Week 3 and closing their season with a victory over BOOM Esports. The Indonesian squad, meanwhile, finished VCT Pacific Stage 2 winless.
Playoffs Lineup Set as Week 4 Concludes
With Week 4 complete, Team Secret, Global Esports, ZETA DIVISION and BOOM Esports have been eliminated from the competition, while the seeding for the next stage has been set. The VCT Pacific 2025 Stage 2 playoffs begin on August 13 with the following opening round matchups.
