After a season opener to forget, the roster changes at DetonatioN FocusMe have not only helped the team bounce back but also unlocked the best version of Ibuki “Meiy” Seki. With a standout performance at Stage 2 of the VCT Pacific circuit, the Japanese player currently leads the league’s stat sheet. Not only did he break a new record in the first week, but he has remained at the top ever since, playing a key role in securing his team’s spot in the playoffs.

Meiy has been a standout star throughout Stage 2 of VCT Pacific, making headlines from week one by setting a new record with a 509 ACS. In the series against ZETA DIVISION, he racked up 60 kills, including two ACEs. One of them featured six eliminations in a single round, which helped deliver the highest single-map ACS ever recorded in VCT history. The previous record was set by Sentinels' Tyson "TenZ" Ngo, who posted a 478 ACS at VCT Masters Berlin in 2021.

The Japanese duelist has established himself as the best in his role this stage, not only topping the overall leaderboard with a 280.2 ACS, but also leading in Kill/Death Ratio, Average Damage per Round, and Kills Per Round. Meiy sits at the top with a 1.49 K/D, 176.5 ADR, and 1.04 KPR, ahead of Papaphat “Primmie” Sriprapha of TALON Esports and Ilia “something” Petrov of Paper Rex.

DetonatioN FocusMe ended Stage 1 of the VCT Pacific without a single win, and Meiy’s stats went largely unnoticed, finishing outside the top 30 players while his team sat near the bottom of the standings. But in Stage 2, the Japanese duelist has been named MVP in 7 of the 10 maps he has played so far.

DetonatioN FocusMe Secures Playoff Spot with Meiy at the Helm

With Koki “Art” Kagam replacing Tomonori “SSeeS” Okimura, DetonatioN FocusMe has looked like a different team. Led by Meiy, they secured a spot in the VCT Pacific playoffs. However, they still have one match left against T1 on August 10, which will determine their final placement in the standings heading into the next stage of the tournament.
