The VCT Pacific Kickoff 2025 commenced with thrilling matches in Week 1, setting the stage for an exciting tournament.

BOOM Esports vs. T1

BOOM Esports, newly promoted to VCT, faced T1, a team renowned for its significant roster overhaul. The match unfolded over three maps: Pearl, Bind, and Fracture. T1 secured BOOM's map pick, Pearl, with a narrow 13-11 victory, despite notable performances from Dastan “dos9” Zhumagali. BOOM retaliated on Bind, dominating the first half and clinching the map 13-8. The decider on Fracture saw T1 regain control, winning 13-7 and advancing to face Paper Rex in the upper quarterfinals.


ZETA Division vs. Nongshim RedForce

ZETA Division, undergoing a rebuild after a challenging 2024, competed against Nongshim RedForce, the Pacific Ascension champions. The match was characterized by contrasting playstyles: ZETA's methodical approach versus Nongshim's aggressive tactics. Nongshim triumphed on Split with a 13-9 scoreline, overcoming a halftime deficit. On Haven, Nongshim's momentum continued, leading to another 13-9 victory and a 2-0 match win. This result extended Nongshim's organizational win streak to 17 matches.


Global Esports vs. Team Secret

Global Esports, fielding a revamped roster, faced Team Secret in a gripping series. Team Secret dominated the opening map, Abyss, with a commanding performance. However, Global Esports mounted a comeback on Split, driven by standout plays from Savva “Kr1stal” Fedorov, Go “UdoTan” Kyung-won, and Federico “Papi” Evangelista, securing a 13-7 win. The momentum carried into the decider on Pearl, where Global Esports emerged victorious with a 13-6 score, advancing to the upper quarterfinals against TALON.


DetonatioN FocusMe vs. Rex Regum Qeon

DetonatioN FocusMe, seeking to improve their VCT record, took on Rex Regum Qeon. DFM started strong on Abyss, edging out a 14-12 win in overtime, highlighted by Ibuki “Meiy” Seki's exceptional 1v4 clutch. However, RRQ dominated the subsequent maps, Pearl and Haven, both ending in 13-3 victories for RRQ. This result sent DFM to the lower bracket, while RRQ advanced to face Gen.G.



DRX vs. Nongshim RedForce

DRX began their 2025 campaign against Nongshim RedForce, marking the latter's first loss after a 16-match winning streak. The series opened on Lotus, with DRX narrowly winning 13-11, thanks to No “free1ng” Ha-jun's pivotal 4K defense. Nongshim responded on Pearl, taking the map 13-6. The decider on Fracture saw DRX secure a 13-9 victory, propelled by free1ng's 22 kills and 139 ACS. DRX's win sets them up for a semifinal clash against the winner of Gen.G vs. Rex Regum Qeon.



Paper Rex vs. T1

In the upper quarterfinals, Paper Rex faced T1 in a best-of-three series. The match began on Bind, T1's map pick, where T1 dominated with a 13-6 victory. Paper Rex responded on Fracture, their chosen map, securing a 13-8 win. The final map, Split, was a closely contested battle, but T1 emerged victorious, winning 13-11 and advancing in the upper bracket semifinal.
