The EWC 2026 League of Legends Group Stage is complete. Across two days of double-elimination GSL bracket play at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, sixteen teams were whittled down to eight as the field takes shape ahead of the single-elimination Playoffs beginning July 17. The $2,000,000 prize pool with $600,000 going to the champion adds enormous weight to every remaining series.

Eight teams advancing to Playoffs: Bilibili Gaming, T1, AG.AL, Dplus KIA, Gen.G, Karmine Corp, Hanwha Life Esports, JD Gaming.
Eight teams eliminated: G2 Esports, Sentinels, GAM Esports, MIBR.LOS (9th–12th, $55,000 each); FURIA, Team Secret Whales, Movistar KOI, LYON (13th–16th, $30,000 each).
Group A: Bilibili Gaming and T1 Set Up the Day's Biggest Clash
Group A immediately delivered the tournament's most anticipated group-stage matchup, with Bilibili Gaming and T1 both winning their openers to set up a blockbuster winners' bracket clash.
BLG opened against Movistar KOI, imposing their tempo through superior laning and objective control from the opening minutes. KOI held on during stretches of the mid game but BLG consistently found favourable teamfights and closed the match convincingly. T1, the reigning EWC champions, faced GAM Esports in their opener — relying on disciplined macro and clean teamfight execution to stay in control throughout, with GAM's aggressive skirmish attempts ultimately falling short.
In the winners' match, BLG defeated T1 to secure the first Knockout Stage berth from Group A. T1 dropped to the lower bracket, where they swept GAM Esports 2-0 — after GAM had earlier eliminated Movistar KOI 2-1 — to claim the group's second Playoffs spot. G2 Esports were not in this group.
Group A final standings:
Bilibili Gaming — Knockout Stage
T1 — Knockout Stage
GAM Esports — Eliminated (9th–12th)
Movistar KOI — Eliminated (13th–16th)
Group B: AG.AL Surprise, G2 Esports Exit Early
Group B provided one of the EWC 2026 League of Legends Group Stage's biggest upsets, with AG.AL defeating Dplus KIA in the opener and G2 Esports ultimately failing to advance.
G2 opened against FURIA and dismissed the Brazilian side efficiently, controlling vision and objectives throughout before closing the match comfortably. AG.AL meanwhile upset Dplus KIA in a showcase of disciplined LPL macro play, limiting Dplus' opportunities to build momentum and advancing to the winners' match. In the elimination series, Dplus recovered against FURIA — dictating pace from the early stages before eliminating the LCS/CBLOL representatives.
In the winners' match, AG.AL defeated G2 Esports to lock up Knockout Stage qualification directly. Dplus KIA then eliminated G2 2-0 in the lower bracket final, sending the LEC champions home in 9th–12th place — one of the more surprising exits of the group stage.
Group B final standings:
AG.AL — Knockout Stage
Dplus KIA — Knockout Stage
G2 Esports — Eliminated (9th–12th)
FURIA — Eliminated (13th–16th)
Group C: Gen.G Dominant, Karmine Corp Survive the Lower Bracket
Group C belonged to Gen.G, the defending EWC champions, who won both of their matches without dropping a game to advance directly to the Playoffs. After defeating Karmine Corp in the opener, Gen.G followed up with another clean win over Sentinels in the winners' match to become the first team confirmed for the Knockout Stage from Group C.
Sentinels had provided the group's opening talking point by defeating Team Secret Whales in the first round — a result that announced the Americas representative as a team capable of causing problems. However, their run ended in the lower bracket at the hands of Karmine Corp, who eliminated Sentinels 2-0 after surviving their own lower bracket run.
Karmine Corp — the LEC representative — battled through an earlier 2-1 elimination win over Team Secret Whales before beating Sentinels to claim the group's second Playoffs spot in impressive fashion.
Group C final standings:
Gen.G — Knockout Stage
Karmine Corp — Knockout Stage
Sentinels — Eliminated (9th–12th)
Team Secret Whales — Eliminated (13th–16th)
Group D: HLE and JDG Through, MIBR.LOS and LYON Exit
The final group saw two additional tournament favourites advance as expected. Hanwha Life Esports, the reigning MSI 2026 champions, controlled their opener against MIBR.LOS from the first minutes — consistently securing neutral objectives and extending their advantage methodically to book their place in the winners' match.
JD Gaming overcame LYON in a more competitive contest. LYON managed to remain within striking distance through the early game before JDG's superior late-game teamfight execution proved decisive. In the elimination series, MIBR.LOS recovered impressively against LYON — dominating early before closing the game out in convincing fashion to stay alive in the tournament.
HLE and JDG subsequently met in the winners' match, with both teams advancing after the lower bracket was resolved — MIBR.LOS taking the group's final Playoffs bid before ultimately being eliminated after the full group stage concluded, with LYON exiting in last place.
Group D final standings:
Hanwha Life Esports — Knockout Stage
JD Gaming — Knockout Stage
MIBR.LOS — Eliminated (9th–12th)
LYON — Eliminated (13th–16th)
EWC 2026 League of Legends Playoffs: What's Next
With the EWC 2026 League of Legends Group Stage now complete, attention turns to the single-elimination Playoffs bracket beginning July 17 — where one loss means elimination. All playoff series are Best-of-Three, with the Grand Final played as a Best-of-Five. Fearless Draft is active throughout the Playoffs, meaning no champion can be repeated within the same series.
The confirmed Knockout Stage field of eight is a who's who of international League of Legends: Bilibili Gaming, T1, AG.AL, Dplus KIA, Gen.G, Karmine Corp, Hanwha Life Esports, and JD Gaming. And BLG — the team that beat T1 in the group stage — will carry enormous momentum into the bracket.
The road to the $600,000 prize and the EWC League of Legends championship starts now.
