In a significant turn of events, the standings for VALORANT Challengers Southeast Asia Split 3's Promotion/Relegation and Challengers Point allocation will now be determined based on Playoff results for teams that qualified, rather than purely group stage outcomes. This adjustment marks a substantial shift in how final rankings are assessed, particularly impacting teams like NAOS, Alter Ego, and XGOD.

The new ruling states that for teams that made it to the Playoffs, their final standings will be determined by the order of their elimination during the Playoffs, instead of their group stage performances. In cases where two teams are eliminated during the Knockout Round, their ranking will be determined by:
Map win-loss difference during Playoffs
Round win-loss difference during Playoffs
If both metrics are tied, the results from the Group Stage will be referenced in the following order:
Group Stage standing
Total match wins
Map win-loss difference
Round win-loss difference
For teams that did not qualify for the Playoffs, the original group standings and tie-breakers will still apply as follows:
Group Stage standing
Total match wins
Map win-loss difference
Round win-loss difference
Initially, NAOS and Alter Ego were marked for relegation based on their group stage standings. However, with the adjusted rules, NAOS are now safe from relegation, and XGOD will instead move to the Promotion/Relegation Stage. This change is due to their group stage ranking combined with NAOS's playoff run, altering the final standings.
Alter Ego remains in the Promotion/Relegation Stage as they did not qualify for Playoffs, solidifying their spot in the bottom two.
The bottom two teams from each group’s final standings, now determined post-Playoffs for qualified teams, will enter the Promotion/Relegation. This adjustment makes the Playoffs not just a shot at the title but a lifeline for teams aiming to avoid relegation, with XGOD and Alter Ego now at risk.
With the new rules, every map and round in the Playoffs is crucial, dramatically affecting team standings and survival in VALORANT Challengers Southeast Asia moving forward.
