A team that ended the first day in 5th place and finished the tournament as champions, Team Aryan proved that consistency is key. By winning Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Pro Series (BMPS), the team secured ₹12,500,000 ($145,685) in winnings. In this candid conversation with Syrax and Aryan, we recount their journey from their early days to now becoming the champions of BMPS 2025 and representing India during the upcoming Esports World Cup 2025.

Q. During the last match of the tournament, your team got eliminated quite early. Following that moment, what was the discussion going on within your team?

Syrax: At that point, we were just blank and had nothing in our heads. It was an opportunity for other teams to make their mark. If they had played well, they could have stolen the victory from us. I always believe that, in the end, the most deserving team will become the champion.

Q. Previously, when we have seen teams play in international events, they tend to have a coach and an analyst within their team. Will your team be doing the same for the upcoming EWC Tournament?

Syrax: There will be no changes to our roster going into the upcoming PMWC 2025 tournament. Currently, we are not considering adding a coach or analyst to our roster.

Q. After a long time in BGMI history, we have seen an underdog/rising team secure the championship at an official event. As an individual, how does it make you feel?

Aryan: Honestly, it still feels like a dream that we have been able to lift the trophy for our organization. This is a dream come true for me and my fellow teammates. Last night, we were thinking about how we would lift the BMPS trophy if we won it, and now we have. We made this team from scratch.

We acquired the duo of Devotee and Hitler from Bot Army and completed our team with Syrax and the aim was to qualify for the grand finals of BMPS 2025. When we qualified through week 1 of the semi-finals, we held firm in the belief that we had a chance to win it all.

Q. Your team has just won the most enormous prize pool in BGMI Esports History, 1.25 Cr. Does seeing that number of zeros in the prize pool bring a smile to your face?

Aryan: This tournament was my debut LAN. For me, the goal was to win the trophy and be known as the champions of BMPS 2025. The prize pool was the third thing for me, as the first thing I wanted was to be the Champion, and the second was to secure a spot in the upcoming EWC tournament.

Q. If you recall the first day of this tournament, could you share how you felt back then and how you feel now, as the champion? How have those feelings changed?

Aryan: Honestly, we did each stage one at a time. All we thought about from the beginning was to qualify for the next stage. As we reached the semi-finals, the goal was to qualify for the LAN. Once we did that, all eyes were on the trophy. If I am being honest, I didn’t expect us to win. We were a new team, and we started racking up a few mistakes as the tournament went on. At first, it truly was just like a dream, but with time, we drew closer and closer to making it a reality.

Q. Do you feel the weight of this medal that you received for becoming the champions of BMPS 2025? Because your team will be representing India after so many years in this game?

Aryan: When I started playing, I used to watch a lot of professional teams. I used to study their playstyle and try to replicate it to the best of my ability. During this time, I played with some of them, and still, I won the trophy. That in itself means so much to me. Honestly, right now I can’t explain how I feel because I feel overwhelmed about it all. I still feel like this is all a dream.

Q. If you could go back in time and tell the version of yourself that started playing BGMI, what message would you like to give them?

Aryan: Keep faith in yourself. The path you take will lead you to success. You are right now at the beginning, and there is a long way to go. You will have to work hard and just believe in your talent and the people around you.
