THE MONGOLZ 2-1 AURORA: ANOTHER COMEBACK
The MongolZ also came from behind, beating Aurora 2-1 to enter the 1-0 pool while Aurora fell to 0-1. Aurora took the first map 16-12 in overtime after fighting back from a tight half and sweeping the overtime periods, powered by a strong showing from Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın.
After that, The MongolZ took over. They dominated the second map 13-2, building a 10-2 lead on the CT side and shutting Aurora’s offense down. The decider went their way 13-9 after a 7-5 halftime lead, with key contributions from Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch and Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold. Banzragch was named Player of the Match with a 53-33 K-D and a 1.55 rating on the final maps, and a 1.23 rating across the series.
BETBOOM 2-1 SPIRIT: THE DAY’S BIG UPSET
BetBoom pulled off the upset of the day by beating Team Spirit 2-1. It started well for them on Anubis, their own pick, where they led 7-5 on the T side. Spirit then locked down their defense after the swap and won eight of the last 11 rounds to erase a 5-7 deficit and take the map 13-10.
BetBoom answered hard on Ancient, Spirit’s pick. They grabbed a 10-2 lead at the half and cruised to a 13-3 win to level the series. The Mirage decider stayed tight through regulation and went to overtime, where BetBoom won 16-14. Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko sealed it with a decisive 1v3 clutch, pushing his team into the 1-0 Swiss pool. He was named Player of the Match with a +20 kill differential and a 1.46 Rating 3.0.
VITALITY 2-0 9Z: A STRONG CT-SIDE START
Team Vitality swept 9z Team in the opening Swiss round, and they did it by taking control early. On the first map, Vitality’s CT side rushed out to an 8-4 halftime lead.
9z mounted a second-half comeback, helped by a pivotal 1v3 clutch from HUASOPEEK, but Vitality held firm and closed it out 13-10.
The second map had a different shape. 9z struck back on the attack and led 7-5 at the break. After the side switch, though, Vitality’s defense locked everything down and conceded only three more rounds, giving them another 13-10 win. Shahar “flameZ” Shushan led the way with a 1.27 rating, a 37-29 K-D and 82.6 ADR. Vitality move into the 1-0 group, and 9z drop to 0-1.
NAVI 2-0 G2 ESPORTS: OVERTIME ON DUST2
Natus Vincere closed out Day 1 on Stream A with a 2-0 win over G2 Esports. The first map was Nuke, NAVI’s pick. A tightly contested first half ended level at 6-6, and G2 briefly grabbed a 10-9 lead on the CT side. NAVI stabilized in the closing rounds and took it 13-11.
Dust2, G2’s pick, started in NAVI’s favor, with an 8-4 lead in the first half. G2 mounted a strong comeback, clawing back from 9-12 down to force overtime. The map stretched through multiple overtimes, with 17 extra rounds played, before NAVI closed it out 22-19.
Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen was named Player of the Match with a 1.28 rating and a 43-33 K-D. Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov posted a massive 54 kills and a +20 K-D differential across the series. NAVI moved to 1-0, while G2 dropped to 0-1.
STREAM B RESULTS: A MARATHON, A CLUTCH AND A COMEBACK
NEMIGA 2-0 LEGACY: QUADRUPLE OVERTIME ON ANCIENT
Nemiga started the Swiss stage with a marathon. Ancient, their own pick, went to a 12-12 regulation and then kept going, with Nemiga squandering three map points before finally surviving a grueling quadruple-overtime battle, 25-23.
Dust2, Legacy’s pick, was a different story. Nemiga dictated the pace from the pistol rounds and took control early. Legacy tried a late defensive push, but the series ended on the 21st round with a 13-8 scoreline. Daniel “syph0” was the star, finishing with a rating range of 1.37 to 1.55, a 59-48 K-D and 92.2 ADR, which earned him Player of the Match.
The result lifted Nemiga into the 1-0 group and added 47 VRS points, moving them up to 13th in Europe VRS. Legacy fall into the 0-1 group, and an uphill battle awaits.
LIQUID 2-1 MOUZ: A REVERSE SWEEP
Liquid opened their campaign with a reverse sweep over MOUZ. They dropped Ancient but came back to win Inferno 16-12 and Mirage 13-11. Keith “NAF” Markovic delivered the series’ defining moment on Ancient, a 1v5 post-plant clutch that kept Liquid alive and forced overtime. He finished with a 1.12 rating and a 47-43 K-D.
JT added crucial multi-kills too, including four AK headshots on B-site defense that put Liquid on map point on Inferno. The win moves Liquid into the 1-0 pool with 63 VRS points gained, while MOUZ sit at 0-1.
FURIA 2-0 DENDELE: A HARD-FOUGHT SWEEP
FURIA opened their campaign with a 2-0 win over DENDELE, and it was not a stroll. The first map was Ancient, which DENDELE picked after Dust2 and Anubis were vetoed. FURIA took it 13-8, level at 6-6 at the half before a 7-2 second half pulled them clear. Inferno, FURIA’s own pick, was tighter. They won it 13-11, again level at 6-6 at the break, with a 7-5 second half sealing the sweep.
The most memorable moment came on Ancient, where Rdnzao pulled off a massive 1v4 clutch, and the T side planted the bomb after his three clutch kills.
FalleN brought strong opening kills and plenty of veteran presence on both maps, steadying FURIA’s mid-rounds when things got shaky.
FUT 2-0 TYLOO: SEVEN STRAIGHT ROUNDS
FUT beat TYLOO 2-0 in the opening Swiss round and moved into the 1-0 pool. TYLOO jumped out to a 7-2 lead on their own map pick, but FUT clawed back to 5-7 by halftime, then dominated the second half to win 13-9. The second map was level at 6-6 at the break, and FUT then won seven straight rounds after the side switch to take it 13-6.
The veto set the stage. TYLOO removed Dust2, FUT removed Inferno, TYLOO picked Nuke, FUT picked Ancient, TYLOO removed Cache, and TYLOO removed Anubis, leaving Mirage.
