NRG vs Fnatic: The Grand Final Showdown

The NRG vs Fnatic clash unfolded across five maps — Corrode, Lotus, Abyss, Ascent, and Sunset — each packed with intensity and tactical brilliance.

Map 1 – Corrode (NRG 13–3 Fnatic)

NRG opened the series in commanding fashion, completely dismantling Fnatic on their map pick. Their tempo and coordination were unmatched, with brawk leading the charge through multi-kills and aggressive site retakes. Despite flashes of brilliance from crashies and kaajak, Fnatic couldn’t withstand NRG’s relentless pressure, falling 13–3.

Map 2 – Lotus (NRG 13–6 Fnatic)

Fnatic’s pick of Lotus was expected to reset the series momentum, but mada and skuba ensured otherwise. Their fast-paced attack and clinical post-plants overwhelmed Fnatic’s setups. While kaajak produced clutch moments to keep Fnatic alive, NRG’s superior structure and discipline sealed a 13–6 win, pushing the series to 2–0.

Map 3 – Abyss (Fnatic 15–13 NRG)

With their tournament life on the line, Fnatic mounted a historic comeback. After trailing 1–11 at halftime, crashies and kaajak sparked a turnaround that stunned the crowd. Their coordination in post-plant scenarios and clutch rounds flipped the map on its head. Fnatic’s resilience carried them to a thrilling 15–13 overtime win, keeping their championship hopes alive.

Map 4 – Ascent (Fnatic 13–8 NRG)

Momentum swung fully in Fnatic’s favor on Ascent. Alfajer delivered a standout performance, breaking through NRG’s defenses with precision and confidence. Supported by kaajak, Fnatic forced retakes that NRG couldn’t manage. The EMEA squad tied the series 2–2 after a decisive 13–8 victory, setting the stage for a winner-takes-all finale.

Map 5 – Sunset (NRG 13–5 Fnatic)

With the world title on the line, NRG found another gear. Ethan produced a vintage performance, dominating both halves with elite utility usage and crisp aim. skuba controlled the map’s flow, while brawk continued to deliver consistent multi-kills. Fnatic appeared exhausted, unable to stop NRG’s momentum. The 13–5 result crowned NRG as the VALORANT Champions 2025 winners.

A Historic Triumph for North America

NRG’s 3–2 victory over Fnatic is a defining moment for North American VALORANT. The team’s adaptability and composure across all five maps cemented their place in esports history.

brawk was named MVP of VALORANT Champions 2025 for his stellar performance, while Ethan became the first player ever to win VALORANT Champions twice with two different teams — Evil Geniuses (2023) and NRG (2025).

For Fnatic, it was a bittersweet finish. Their heroic comeback attempt on Abyss and Ascent reaffirmed their status as one of the most strategically sound teams in the world, even as they fell just short of reclaiming the title.
