G2 Esports has acquired Israeli rifler Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko from Cloud9 to its roster. The move fills the vacancy left by Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, who recently transferred to Falcons Esports. HeavyGod joins from Cloud9, where he delivered standout performances over a seven-month tenure, including a 1.16 HLTV rating across 73 maps.

His most notable contribution came during the European RMR, where he played a crucial role in Cloud9's qualification for the Perfect World Shanghai Major with an impressive 1.32 HLTV rating. At G2, HeavyGod is expected to take over anchor CT roles, freeing Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa to shift into the impactful positions left vacant by NiKo.
This roster update comes as G2 prepares for their debut at the BLAST Bounty, set to begin on January 17 against B8. The team aims to capitalize on HeavyGod's form and adapt to the new dynamics.
Meanwhile, the departure of HeavyGod adds to the challenges for Cloud9, which now only have Timofey "interz" Yakushin as an active player. With Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov joining Virtus.pro and other core members moving to BetBoom, Cloud9 faces a major rebuild ahead.
With HeavyGod’s addition, G2’s roster is:
🇧🇦 Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač
🇷🇺 Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov
🇬🇹 Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa
🇵🇱 Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski
🇮🇱 Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko
🇵🇱 Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas (coach)
