QUARTERFINAL RESULTS: THREE SWEEPS AND A DECIDER
FURIA 2-0 BETBOOM TEAM
FURIA beat BetBoom Team 2-0 to reach the semifinals. They’ll now face MOUZ in the semifinals, for the fourth time in just over a month, following one win at StarSeries Fall and two losses at ESL Pro League Season 24.
On Dust2, FURIA dismantled BetBoom’s spacing on the T side with aggressive map control and split flanks from Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis and Yuri “yuurih” Santos, leading 10-2 at the half. BetBoom mounted a huge comeback, stringing rounds together off a force-buy win and clutch plays from Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko to force overtime at 12-12. FURIA locked down the defence and won 16-12, powered by a clean YEKINDAR clutch.
On Cache, BetBoom grabbed early momentum as FURIA’s aggressive A-site pushes kept running into a wall. FURIA flipped the script after the side switch. Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato opened the half with a crucial 1v2 pistol-round clutch, and YEKINDAR delivered a quad-kill from Boost that broke BetBoom’s economy and morale. FURIA closed it 13-7.
MOUZ 2-0 AURORA
MOUZ swept Aurora Gaming 2-0, dropping only eight rounds across the entire series, and moved on to face FURIA in the semifinals.
On Mirage, MOUZ’s pick, MOUZ led 7-5 on the T side and then dominated the second half 6-1 for a 13-6 win. On Cache, Aurora’s pick, MOUZ suffocated Aurora from the opening rounds, built a 10-2 first half, and sealed the map 13-2.
Lotan “Spinx” Giladi led the server with a 1.71 rating, 36 kills, 15 deaths and 104.0 ADR. Oldřich “PR” Nový backed him up with a 1.50 rating and 30 kills. Aurora struggled to find any offensive rhythm, and Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo led them with a modest 0.84 rating.
The win earned MOUZ one VRS point, taking their total to 1,963 and keeping them second in the rankings. Aurora lost 37 points, falling from 1,895 to 1,858 and dropping from third to fourth place.
TEAM VITALITY 2-1 NATUS VINCERE
Team Vitality advanced after beating Natus Vincere 2-1, coming back from a one-sided opening map.
NAVI surprised Vitality by picking Cache, a map they had banned earlier in the tournament, and won it 13-2. Mihai “iM” Ivan led the way with a 1.89 rating, and the win snapped Vitality’s eight-game win streak on Cache.
Vitality bounced back on Mirage, their pick, and took a hard-fought 13-9 win to tie the series. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut was outstanding on the CT side with a 2.61 rating, and a missed NAVI smoke during an anti-eco round also cost them valuable momentum.
Vitality carried that momentum into Dust2, the decider, and built an 8-4 lead on the CT side. NAVI won the pistol round after the break, but ZywOo’s Scout triple kill helped Vitality regain control, and they closed the map 13-6. ZywOo was named the best player of the series.
NEMIGA 2-0 FUT
Nemiga defeated FUT 2-0 to reach the semifinals, even though FUT entered the playoffs with a perfect group-stage record. FUT exited in 5th-8th place and took home $25,000.
On Nuke, Nemiga’s pick, FUT dominated the first half on the T side and led 9-3. Nemiga won the second-half pistol round and then turned the map around with a 10-2 CT-side half, winning 13-11. Daniel “syph0” Ageyev delivered a crucial 1v2 clutch and a 2.38 rating on the CT side, while Xant3r posted a 1.28 rating.
On Dust2, FUT’s pick, Nemiga took the opening pistol round and led early, but FUT fought back to level the first half at 6-6. Nemiga won another second-half pistol round, their fourth in a row, and built a 9-6 lead. FUT levelled at 9-9, but Nemiga took the last four rounds to win 13-9 and eliminate FUT.
