FaZe Clan Avoids Team Falcons' Fate, Narrowly Qualifies for BLAST.tv Austin Major Stage 3

After an absolute rollercoaster of a stage, FaZe Clan fans can breathe a sigh of relief. The Karrigan-led team, recently infused by the addition of the CSGOAT "s1mple," managed to qualify for the next stage of the Austin Major with a 3-2 record. Here's what went down in a stage that ruined most of the populace's Pick'Em's.

First, let's take a look at the teams that have qualified for the next stage of the Austin CS2 Major:


Teams with a 3-0 record:

Teams with a 3-1 record:

  • paiN

  • Furia

  • 3DMAX


Teams with a 3-2 record:

  • Nemiga

  • Lynn Vision

  • FaZe Clan

Shockingly, Niko and m0NESY have been eliminated in embarrassing fashion, crashing out of the event in 12th-14th place with only one win against OG to the Falcons name. Here are all the teams that were eliminated at stage 2:

Speaking with HLTV after the devastating loss, Niko mentioned that "It's just so unacceptable to drop the ball in such a crucial moment from a team like ours." Adding insult to injury, the final nail in the coffin was losing a 5v3 situation on match point.

Stage 3 of the Blast.tv CS2 Austin Major begins on June 12th and will continue with the Swiss System Format. Elimination and advancement matches will be best of threes, while all other matches are best of ones. Here, our playoff squads will be decided, which will go head-to-head from June 19th to June 22nd.
