The action at the VALORANT World Championship continues, and with a new matchday completed, two more teams have been eliminated from the top international competition. DRX kept their strong form in the tournament, sending MIBR home from VALORANT Champions Paris 2025, one of the favourites to lift the title.

The clash took place on September 29 in the Lower Bracket, with DRX coming into the series after pulling off a surprise by eliminating G2 Esports. Meanwhile, MIBR could not get past NRG, falling 2−1 and dropping to the brink of elimination, making their clash a do-or-die scenario.

The series began on Sunset, with DRX dominating the first half through solid defence, which gave them a 9-3 lead at halftime. After the side switch, MIBR, with Erick “Aspas” Santos and Gabriel “Cortezia” Cortez, turned the game around, shutting down the opponent’s attack and taking the map 13-10.

Ascent was a much closer contest from the start, with both teams trading rounds early on. DRX managed to edge ahead 7-5 on attack going into halftime, but MIBR struck back after the break by taking the pistol round and forcing overtime. Still, the Korean squad evened up the series, with No “freeing” Ha-jun stepping up to secure the 15-13 win.

Everything was decided on Bind, which finished the first half tied on the scoreboard. After the side switch, DRX executed an aggressive attack that gave them the lead from the start of the pistol round. MIBR managed to close the gap with a couple of defensive rounds to reach double digits, but it wasn’t enough to turn the game around, and they were defeated 13-10.

DRX’s Remarkable Run At VALORANT Champions 2025

DRX have become the biggest surprise of the tournament, as the fourth seed from VCT Pacific secured the second spot in Group C with wins over EDward Gaming and Team Liquid. Despite starting the playoffs with a loss to Fnatic, the Korean squad bounced back by eliminating two strong VCT Americas contenders, G2 Esports and MIBR.

The Korean giants will now face VCT Pacific Stage 2 champion Paper Rex, who secured at least a top-four finish after defeating Team Heretics 2−1. DRX’s path continues as the VALORANT Champions Paris 2025 playoffs resume on October 3, opening with the clash between Fnatic and NRG.
