Skyesports Souvenir 2025 Returns as Indian-Only Event After Initial Cancellation

Skyesports has officially announced the revival of the Skyesports Souvenir 2025, a Counter-Strike 2 tournament exclusively for Indian teams. This announcement comes after the initial cancellation of the event, which was previously planned as a $250,000 international LAN. The revamped tournament will now focus on fostering the Indian Counter-Strike community and is set to take place at The Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru, from February 27 to March 1, 2025, as part of the prestigious Bengaluru GAFX 2025.

The Skyesports Souvenir 2025 was initially canceled due to unforeseen complications, including a lack of communication from Valve regarding scheduling adjustments and wildcard invites. However, Skyesports has pivoted to a new format.


Souvenir 2025 will now feature two distinct phases:

  • Phase 1: Open Qualifiers (Online)

    • Format: Single-elimination bracket.

      • Round of 16: Best-of-1.

      • Quarterfinals and Semifinals: Best-of-3.

    • Top 2 teams from the qualifiers will advance to the main event.


  • Phase 2: Main Event (LAN)

    • A total of 4 teams will compete:

      • 2 teams from the open qualifiers.

      • 2 directly invited teams.

    • Format: To be determined.

    • Dates: February 27 - March 1, 2025.


The event will feature a ₹500,000 INR prize pool, split as follows:

  • 1st Place: ₹250,000

  • 2nd Place: ₹150,000

  • 3rd Place: ₹50,000

  • 4th Place: ₹50,000


Shiva Nandy, CEO of Skyesports, stated, “The Skyesports Souvenir, an IP established in 2022, has a rich history of delivering top-tier esports action to fans. This year, we are collaborating with ABAI to bring this IP to an even larger audience at Bengaluru GAFX with an open-for-all CS2 tournament at The Lalit Ashok. This initiative will further our efforts to mainstream esports in India


The event will be part of Bengaluru GAFX 2025, a premier showcase for animation, gaming, and visual effects supported by the Government of Karnataka. Fans can look forward to both electrifying on-ground action and online streaming.
