Skyesports has announced the cancellation of the Skyesports Souvenir 2025, citing a lack of response from Valve regarding their request for adjustments to the event's schedule and invite process.

The tournament organizer revealed that they had "applied for an exception to reschedule Skyesports Souvenir 2025 and introduce wildcard invites," but Valve did not respond to the request.
In their official statement, Skyesports highlighted concerns raised by teams about the tournament potentially losing its ranked status.
Coupled with the current situation surrounding other events and concerns raised by teams about the tournament potentially becoming unranked, we are left with no choice but to cancel the Skyesports Souvenir 2025
Valve had recently reminded tournament organizers about the 2025 "Tournament Operating Requirements." In an email, Valve reiterated that "any changes to 2025 Additional Information requires an exception," making it necessary for Skyesports to secure approval for rescheduling or altering their invite process.
However, Skyesports confirmed E4EQUIP that they never received any email from Valve regarding this matter, nor did they receive a response to their request for exceptions.
Skyesports expressed regret over the cancellation:
We sincerely apologize to our fans, players, and partners for this disappointing turn of events.
Skyesports has a history of setbacks with its LAN events. In 2024, the Skyesports Masters was shifted online due to complications arising from the Indian General Election.
