A Historic Lower Bracket Miracle: KRÜ Blaze Win the Game Changers Championship 2026!

The biggest event of the year for marginalized genders in VALORANT—the Game Changers Championship 2026—has officially concluded in São Paulo, Brazil, with an absolutely cinematic script. Defying all odds, KRÜ Blaze successfully defeated Gentle Mates GC in a grueling 3-2 Grand Final thriller, officially claiming the highest pinnacle of the game.

1. The Ultimate Lower Bracket Run at the Game Changers Championship 2026

KRÜ Blaze has made history by becoming the first team ever to win the Game Changers Championship after dropping out of the upper bracket.

Their journey in São Paulo started strong with a 2-1 victory over Gen.G GC, but they quickly hit a massive roadblock, falling 2-0 to Shopify Rebellion Gold in the upper semifinals. Undeterred, KRÜ Blaze began a legendary lower bracket gauntlet. First, they dethroned the reigning champions, Team Liquid Brazil, with a clean 2-0 sweep. They then swept MIBR GC 2-0 in an absolute nail-biter, with both maps decided by razor-thin 13-11 margins.

In the lower final, they secured sweet revenge against Shopify Rebellion Gold. Despite being crushed 13-6 on the opening map, Sunset, KRÜ Blaze completely reset their mental state, winning the next three consecutive maps to close the series 3-1.

Entering the Grand Final, they faced Gentle Mates GC—a rookie Championship team having a terrifyingly dominant run, having dropped only a single map prior. Demonstrating incredible resilience, KRÜ Blaze lost the first map, roared back to win the next two, stumbled in the fourth, and ultimately delivered the final blow in the decisive fifth map. The Grand Final marked their fourth consecutive series victory since falling to the lower bracket!

2. Putting LATAM on the Championship Map

Before 2026, the prestigious Championship trophy was fiercely gatekept by three dominant regions: Europe (G2 Gozen in 2022), North America (Shopify Rebellion in 2023 and 2024), and Brazil (Team Liquid Brazil in 2025). By claiming this title, LATAM has officially joined the exclusive list of regions boasting a Game Changers World Champion.

The championship-winning roster features incredible regional talents including tok1o, none, antG, ponix, and micaela, guided by Head Coach bonzitt and Assistant Coach mizu. This marks the very first Championship title for every single player on the active roster.

3. The Climax of a Five-Year Grind

KRÜ Blaze’s ultimate triumph isn’t a stroke of overnight luck; it is the culmination of a grueling, steady five-year climb to the top of the competitive ladder.

Their historical placements at the Championship showcase a remarkable trajectory of pure growth: finishing 7th-8th in 2022, improving to 5th-6th in 2023 and 2024, pushing to 4th in 2025, and finally ascending to 1st place in 2026. Throughout this long developmental journey, Lorena “micaela” Ferreyra stands as the sole remaining veteran from the 2025 roster to finally taste the ultimate victory.
