[EXCLUSIVE] SK Thuy Interview: Dương Ngọc Thủy, Vietnam’s Pride at the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2026
The VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2026 is currently taking São Paulo, Brazil by storm, standing as the absolute pinnacle of women’s esports. Amidst the fierce global competition, the Vietnamese VALORANT community has their eyes firmly glued to Dương Ngọc Thủy. This incredibly talented Vietnamese-origin player is currently making waves on the international stage, competing for the powerhouse squad SK Nebula under the moniker “SK Thuy.”
Fresh off a highly decisive 2-0 victory against the formidable Pacific representatives FENNEL Female, Thuy sat down with E4EQUIP for an exclusive late-night chat to hear directly from this rising international star! This exclusive SK Thuy interview covers her performance, her mindset and her message to fans in Vietnam.
SK Thuy Interview: The Immovable Defensive Anchor of SK Nebula
During the intense best-of-three series against FENNEL Female, SK Thuy put on an absolute masterclass in defensive utility and crosshair placement. Playing her signature Viper and Cypher, she served as an unbreakable anchor for her team, racking up an astonishing 33 kills, 8 assists, and achieving a highly impressive 205 ACS (Average Combat Score).
Reflecting on the hard-fought win, Thuy shared her raw excitement:
“I feel really happy and this is the results I expected. My team and I really wanted and we needed this win and we got it.”
When asked about her core secret to holding down defensive setups and maintaining such suffocating map control, Thuy provided a deep dive into her tactical mindset:
“I think, when you play sentinel you need to balance between aggressive and passive gamestyle and to adapt with the opponents. I also use a lot of infos from my teammates to know if I can push or search for kills.”
She also acknowledged the inherent difficulties of their tactical compositions, adding: “I play Viper solo sentinel on Lotus and sometimes it’s very hard, but our game plan is made for that, and we manage this very well because of our comms.”
Unwavering Mental Fortitude & The Team’s “Hype Squad”
Facing the immense, crushing pressure of a global LAN tournament can break even veteran players, yet SK Thuy appeared remarkably composed and grounded. When asked about handling the nerves on the global stage, she explained:
“I already played some French LANs which gave me a lot of experience. Obviously, it’s not the same but, I mostly just enjoy to be here, I just want to have fun and play my Valorant. My coaches help me a lot also with the mental pressure.”
Even though the grueling tournament schedule meant it was already “11 now” (11 PM) in Brazil, Thuy enthusiastically shared some wonderful behind-the-scenes insights about the team’s backstage vibe. She revealed that SK Nebula relies on three main players to keep the squad’s energy levels high.
She detailed the dynamic:
“I think we have 3 people who bring up the energy. Fluxxy because she’s the captain and igl. Even when we’re down 12-0 she’s still screaming ahah.”
The second source is Rezq:
“Rezq also has energy, her comms stay very good whether she’s having a good or bad game.” Finally, she proudly claims her own role as a motivator: “And me! I think I give a lot of positivity and energy in this team, with my voice and comms. I also love hyping my teammates when they make good plays.”
A Heartfelt and Emotional Message to Vietnam
Towards the end of the conversation, the interviewer highlighted just how eager and incredibly supportive Vietnamese audiences are when it comes to seeing a Vietnamese representative shine brightly on the international esports stage.
Deeply touched by the overwhelming wave of support from her homeland, Thuy expressed that she was “very very glad and proud.” The talented sentinel made absolutely sure to send a special, heartfelt message back to her fans in Vietnam, stating:
“Thank you so much!! Cam on. Thank you for all the support in Vietnam. I am so happy and I didn’t expect this.”
