Paper Rex is the First Finalist of VCT Pacific 2025 Stage 2 Playoffs

After a week of exciting matches, another round of the first division of professional Valorant in the Asia-Pacific region comes to an end with the start of Stage 2 playoffs in the VCT Pacific 2025. Paper Rex (PRX) remains on top, becoming the first team to qualify for the tournament final after defeating T1 and TALON in the elimination phase.
Paper Rex dominates the VCT Pacific Stage 2 Playoffs upper bracket
Paper Rex was one of the most dominant teams of the group stage, finishing first in the Omega group, which allowed them to skip the opening round of the playoffs. Their first opponent was T1, who came in after defeating Rex Regum Qeon on August 13, but against PRX, the Korean squad could not put up a fight and ended up falling 2-0 in the series.
In the upper bracket final, Paper Rex faced TALON, who had just beaten DRX 2-1 in the previous round. The series began on Haven with an even first half, and after the side switch, both teams kept trading rounds, but it was PRX who closed the map 13-11.
On Bind, the Masters Toronto 2025 champions built a lead from defense, going into halftime 9-4. After the break, the Thai squad managed to reduce the gap, but it wasn’t enough to turn it around, losing 13-7 and being sent to the lower bracket.
TALON Drops to Lower Bracket to Face RRQ in Elimination Match
With the loss, TALON will now face Rex Regum Qeon in the lower bracket final. The Indonesian squad earned their revenge against T1, eliminating them with a 2-1 series after an exciting overtime comeback that ended 15-13. RRQ managed to bounce back from their opening loss and has fought through the lower bracket, knocking out both Gen.G and DRX along the way.
Although the roster changes in Detonation FocusMe for Stage 2 of the VCT Pacific delivered good results with a playoff appearance, they were the first team eliminated after losing to Nongshim RedForce on August 15 in the lower bracket round 1. However, the Korean squad also ended their run the following day, falling 2-0 and closing their participation in the tournament.
The Road to the VCT Pacific Stage 2 Grand Final
The Stage 2 playoffs of the VCT Pacific 2025 continue on August 30 with the lower bracket final between TALON and Rex Regum Qeon. The winner will face Paper Rex in the grand final on August 31. Both series will be best-of-fives and will be available on the official broadcast on YouTube and Twitch.
