After the departure of Yip "YoU" Man-ho, Xi Lai Gaming has signed Zhang "Midi" Jiajun, who will be flying to Canada with XLG to represent China at the VCT 2025: Masters Toronto. Before joining XLG, Midi represented Trace Esports, where he competed in VCT 2025: China Stage 1, China Evolution Series: Act 2, and the Hero Esports Asian Champions League. While Trace Esports managed to qualify for the Stage 1 playoffs, they received an early exit. With XLG, Midi has a second chance to represent China at the Masters Toronto.
What This Roster Shake-Up Means for XLG at VCT 2025 Masters Toronto

XLG parted ways with YoU after he allegedly made discriminatory remarks against China, and had a record involving cheating and gambling. With VCT 2025: Masters Toronto on the line, XLG wanted to ensure that they had their six-man lineup ready, and that's where Midi came into the equation. Midi will be a part of XLG's playing five and is likely to assume the role of initiator.
During his time at Trace Esports, Midi played Tejo the majority of times, and XLG will want to fit him into the roster without making many changes. Midi has also gotten his hands on Sova and Killjoy, and Viva, XLG's in-game leader, might also consider it.
XLG won the VCT 2025: China Stage 1 and qualified for the Masters Toronto with the first seed. XLG will start their journey directly in the upper quarterfinals of the playoffs, following the end of the Swiss Stage.
Xi Lai Gaming's final roster for the upcoming VCT 2025: Masters Toronto is:
🇨🇳 Lifan “Viva” Ran
🇷🇺 Arthur "rarga" Churyumov
🇨🇳 Deng “happywei” Minwei
🇭🇰 Colin "coconut" Patrick Chung
🇨🇳 Zhang “Midi” Jiajun
🇨🇳 Zhuo "MarT1n" Zhengjie (Substitute)
🇷🇺 Aleksandr "hvoya" Eremin (Head Coach)
🇩🇪 Arian "Arianxx" Irfan (Coach)
