When the VALORANT Champions Tour Partnership League began, there was one team that was on top. It was none other than FNATIC. Following their incredible comeback against LOUD Esports during VCT Lock//IN 2023, they won the first international event in the new season of VALORANT Esports. They continued this run of dominance by winning VALORANT Masters Tokyo 2023. Thus becoming the first team and only team to date to win back-to-back international VALORANT Tournaments.

Following that run to the top, the team never reached the same heights. There were multiple roster changes, yet things still didn't work out for this team. Fast forward to 2025, and they win VCT EMEA Stage One. They go on to secure a spot in the playoffs of VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025. They continue their journey and reach one game away from reaching their first International grand finals after 2 years.

This match was mostly a one-sided affair. The veterans in FNATIC showed Wolves Esports why they were known as one of the best teams in the world. The IGL of FNATIC Boaster, he will always be known as one of the best leaders in VALORANT Esports. During Map 1, FNATIC dominated on attack, ending the first half with a score of 10-2. The message was simple: they wanted to win no matter what. Map 1 ended with a scoreline of 13-9. Map 2 was a one-sided matchup. On the map pick of Wolves Esports, FNATIC dominated them and won 13-4. During Map 3, we saw the Wolves we had seen during their match against Gen G. They secured the map win, taking the series to 2-1. On the 4th map, Ascent, things went well for Wolves Esports on pistol. After losing the first two rounds, FNATIC displayed a master class on how to dominate the series and secured the win 13-5.

The previous face-offs against Paper Rex and FNATIC have only taken place during VALORANT Masters tournaments—the most recent one being during the VALORANT Masters Tokyo in 2023. Since then, the teams have embarked on their journeys of self-discovery. FNATIC is a former VALORANT Masters winner, while Paper Rex hasn't won a single international tournament. Only time will tell if FNATIC becomes the first team to win three international VALORANT tournaments or if W Gaming finally secures a global trophy after multiple heartbreaks.
