After five days of intense matchups, Week 3 of VCT 2025 China Stage 2 comes to a close with the first teams locking in their playoff spots. Xi Lai Gaming (XLG) remains undefeated after a solid victory over FunPlus Phoenix (FPX), securing its place in the next stage of the tournament and staying in contention to represent the region at VALORANT Champions Paris.
XLG Clinches Top Spot in Group Omega with Win Over FPX

XLG closed out Week 3 with a best-of-three win over FunPlus Phoenix on July 27, taking the top spot in Group Omega. The team continued its dominant run after defeating All Gamers and Wolves Esports in the previous weeks, while FPX recorded its first loss of the tournament.
The intense series began on Haven, where Xi Lai Gaming dominated the first half with a commanding 10–2 lead. While FunPlus Phoenix managed to close the gap on attack, they ultimately fell 13–8. Despite Sunset being the Phoenix's map pick, their opponents were once again in control, heading into halftime up 7–5. After securing the pistol round, XLG extended its lead and held off FPX's attempt to force overtime, closing out the series with a tight 14–12 win.
More Teams Lock In Playoff Spots in Week 3
All Gamers secured a playoff spot with a 2–1 victory over Nova Esports on July 25. Despite dropping Haven 13–10, AG bounced back on Corrode and Lotus, taking the series with 13–9 and 13–6 wins, respectively. In Group Alpha, Trace Esports also advanced to the next stage following a win over Bilibili Gaming on July 26, now sitting at three wins and one loss in Stage 2.
With three of the four playoff spots in Group Omega already locked in, Wolves Esports keep their playoff hopes alive with a 2–1 victory over Dragon Ranger Gaming to open the July 27 slate. Meanwhile, Titan Esports Club (TEC) became the first team eliminated from VCT China Stage 2 after suffering losses to both Bilibili Gaming and JD Gaming in Week 3.
Group Alpha remains wide open following TyLoo's 2–0 loss to EDward Gaming on July 25. Both teams are still in contention alongside JD Gaming to join Trace Esports and Bilibili Gaming in the Stage 2 playoffs of VCT China. The top four teams from each side will advance to the next phase and compete for a chance to represent the region at VALORANT Champions.
