Paris, October 2, 2025 – Riot Games has announced the details of the VCT 2026 season, introducing expanded global events, new tournament formats, and a more open path for Challengers to reach Champions.

Global Events in VCT 2026

The 2026 season introduces a broader global footprint with three major international tournaments:

  • Masters Santiago – The first-ever VCT international event in Latin America.

  • Masters London – The United Kingdom’s debut international VALORANT tournament.

  • Champions Shanghai – The world championship event where the 2026 title will be decided.

New Formats and Expanded Playoffs

The VCT 2026 season introduces a triple elimination format for Kickoff tournaments and expands Masters to 12 teams. Stage 2 Playoffs will be hosted as destination events in new cities, while VCT China will launch a unique five-city tour.

Challengers Path to Champions in VCT 2026

For the first time, Challenger teams will have the opportunity to qualify directly for Champions through Stage 2 Playoffs. Riot Games will provide travel assistance, financial stipends, and infrastructure support to ensure rising squads can compete on the global stage.

Teams will also earn points across stages, rewarding consistency throughout the season. This update strengthens the competitive pipeline, linking in-game Premier, Challengers, International Leagues, and ultimately Champions—all within a single year.
