Team Flash Disbands: A Chapter Closes in Vietnamese Valorant

Team Flash, one of the most successful Valorant teams in Vietnam, has officially disbanded from the competitive scene. According to sources, the organization cited challenges in securing sponsorships and a lack of international achievements as key factors behind the decision.

Team Flash’s Journey in Valorant

Team Flash made its debut in 2024 after acquiring the Tài Năng Trẻ lineup, a mix of veteran players and young talents. Their first major appearance was in Predator League 2024, where they delivered a dominant undefeated (3-0) run in the group stage to qualify for the playoffs. However, their journey ended in the Top 4-5, falling to Team Secret despite a valiant effort.

In the VCL Vietnam Split 1 & 2, Team Flash dominated their way through the competition, securing the Split 1 championship. However, in Split 2, they suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to Rapid Lofi, finishing in the Top 3.

Their performance in SOOP League and Predator League Vietnam was a mixed bag. While they failed to qualify for the SOOP Valorant League, they secured a spot in Predator League APAC. Unfortunately, their run ended early in the group stage, following losses to Alter Ego and Chaos Alliance, placing them 13th-16th overall.

In the Onlive Valorant Series, Team Flash showed strong form, performing well in the first three weeks of Season 1. However, in Week 4, they couldn’t maintain their streak, suffering a 3-2 loss to BEWD. In Season 2, they continued their dominant form, defeating all teams except Fancy United. In the Grand Finals, they fought hard but ultimately fell 3-2, securing a runner-up finish.

Why Did Team Flash Disband?

The organization’s decision to exit Valorant stemmed from multiple factors:

  • Lack of Global Success: Despite their dominance in Vietnam, Team Flash struggled to make an impact internationally, which limited their growth.

  • Financial Challenges: The difficulty in securing sponsors made it unsustainable to maintain a competitive roster.

  • Uncertain Future for Valorant in Vietnam: The current tournament ecosystem in Vietnam does not align with the long-term vision of the organization, similar to the reasons behind UNC’s disbandment.
