VALORANT Champions 2026: Regional Breakdown Heading Into Playoffs

The Group Stage told a clear story about where the power sits heading into the VALORANT Champions 2026 playoffs.

The VALORANT Champions 2026 playoffs bracket is set. All four Americas teams advanced from the group stage as eight teams now battle for the world title in Shanghai from October 7.

Americas — Complete DominationAll four Americas representatives — 100 Thieves, G2 Esports, NRG, and LOUD — advanced to the playoffs. No other region came close to matching that clean sweep, and it immediately frames the Americas as the dominant force at Champions 2026.

Pacific — Holding StrongPacific secured three playoff spots through Paper Rex, Nongshim RedForce, and T1, maintaining the region's status as a consistent international powerhouse.

EMEA — Nearly Wiped OutThree of EMEA's four representatives were eliminated in the group stage, leaving Team Vitality as the region's sole surviving torchbearer heading into the playoffs.

China — A Painful Home ExitEvery Chinese team was eliminated without winning a single Best-of-Three series. For a home tournament in Shanghai, it is a brutal result that will define the conversation around VCT CN for months to come.

VALORANT Champions 2026 Playoffs: Opening Matchup Analysis

100 Thieves vs G2 Esports — The Americas Civil War

The only same-region matchup in the opening round and arguably the most intriguing series of the lot. 100 Thieves enter the VALORANT Champions 2026 playoffs on an extraordinary momentum run, having not dropped a single map throughout the entire Group Stage. Four of the top five rated players at Champions Shanghai currently belong to 100T, anchored by Matthew "Cryocells" Panganiban at the top of the individual leaderboards.

G2 Esports showed genuine quality in the group, particularly in their second-chance run against Team Liquid, and arrive with a point to prove. Their main objective heading into this matchup is breaking their well-documented historical curse of falling in the first round of international playoffs. One of these two Americas powerhouses will be going home early. The other could go all the way.

Team Vitality vs Nongshim RedForce — EMEA's Last Stand

Team Vitality carry the weight of an entire region into this matchup. As EMEA's only surviving team at VALORANT Champions 2026, the pressure is enormous — but Vitality have shown they can handle it. An ignited Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen is putting up some of the best individual numbers of his career, and Vitality's run through Group B was more convincing than many expected.

Standing in their way are Masters Santiago champions Nongshim RedForce, who look as dangerous and composed as they have all season. Vitality will need a complete performance to keep EMEA's Champions hope alive.

NRG vs T1 — Champions Pedigree vs High-Volatility Upsets

The defending champions against a team that already proved they can upset anyone in Shanghai. NRG, winners of VALORANT Champions Paris 2025, have maintained ruthless consistency throughout the 2026 season and remain the most credible candidate to lift back-to-back trophies.

T1, however, are dangerous precisely because of their unpredictability. The Pacific side produced clutch rounds against FUT Esports to secure their playoff spot through the lower bracket, but unforced errors were visible in their gameplay. They will need significantly tighter execution to pull off another upset against a team as disciplined and experienced as NRG.

Paper Rex vs LOUD — High-Tempo Aim Battle

This is the series most likely to produce the purest, highest-octane VALORANT of the opening round. Both Paper Rex and LOUD play aggressive, fast-paced styles built around individual firepower, and a clash between two teams of that profile at VALORANT Champions 2026 is going to be must-watch.

PRX hold a clear advantage in international experience and adaptability across long runs. But LOUD's young core presents a genuine threat, led by standout rookie Lucca "lukxo" Travaioli in what has been a sensational international debut. If lukxo continues his current form, LOUD are more than capable of pulling off the upset.
