The professional Valorant scene in the Americas has a single dominant champion this season that has now claimed its third trophy of the year. G2 Esports remains at the top of the region, retaining its title after a 3-0 victory over NRG in the Stage 2 final of the 2025 VCT Americas.

After weeks of intense matches, the Stage 2 final was held on August 31 at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles, United States. G2 Esports, who qualified directly for the final, faced NRG, who had stunned Sentinels with a 3-1 victory in the Lower Bracket Final.

The series began on Bind, with NRG dominating their map pick from the defensive side, holding a clear advantage at the half with a 9-3 lead. However, after switching sides, G2 Esports responded strongly, stopping their opponent with eight consecutive rounds to turn the score around and secure the first map 13-11.

Lotus was G2 Esports’ pick, and from the first half, the Stage 1 champions gained an advantage on defense, leading 7-5 at the half. On attack, the Samurais kept up their strong pace, winning five consecutive rounds to reach match point. Although NRG managed to take a couple more rounds, it wasn’t enough, as they fell 13-8, with Jacob “Valyn” Batio playing a key role in the 2-0 victory.

On Ascent, NRG started by taking the first two rounds of the matchup, but G2 Esports quickly gained the advantage, led by Nathan “Leaf” Orf, who returned to the roster after a brief absence due to health issues, heading into the half with a 7-5 lead. After switching sides, Brock “Brawk” Somerhalder played a key role in closing the gap, and although it seemed at times that the series could reach a fourth map, Trent “Trent” Cairns sealed the win with a 13-10 score, securing the Stage 2 title of the VCT Americas.

With the victory, G2 Esports secured its third trophy of the 2025 season, following wins at the VCT Americas Kickoff and Stage 1. Despite the loss, NRG qualified for Valorant Champions Paris, and along with Sentinels and MIBR, will join the Samurais at the world championship, which now has all participants confirmed and begins on September 12.
