Team RRQ has officially announced the departure of Coach Ewok (Marthinus Walt), marking the end of a defining chapter in RRQ’s Valorant journey.

Ewok, who played a pivotal role in building RRQ Valorant from the ground up, guided the roster to its first-ever VCT Pacific championship and helped elevate the team onto the global stage.
A Transformative Tenure for RRQ Valorant
Under Ewok’s guidance, RRQ reached multiple career-defining milestones. The team captured their first VCT Pacific Stage 1 title in May 2025, defeating Gen.G 3-1 in the grand final — a moment that cemented RRQ as a serious contender in the global Valorant scene.
That victory secured the team a spot at Masters Shanghai, where they placed 7th–8th, followed by appearances at the Esports World Cup and Champions 2025, closing the year among the world’s top teams.
Ewok’s Legacy: Strategy, Leadership, and Discipline
Ewok’s impact extended well beyond tournament results. Known for his analytical depth, calm leadership, and player-centric coaching style, he helped transform RRQ into one of the most disciplined and well-prepared lineups in the Pacific region.
His strategic versatility enabled RRQ to adapt across shifting metas and consistently challenge regional powerhouses such as Paper Rex and Gen.G.
Before their 2025 breakthrough, RRQ had shown steady improvement under Ewok’s leadership — progressing from mid-table finishes in 2024 VCT Pacific to notable appearances in SEA Kings Clash and the VALORANT Radiant Asia Invitational, events that expanded their fanbase across Southeast Asia.
Looking Ahead: A New Chapter for RRQ Valorant
Although RRQ has not yet announced a replacement, Ewok leaves behind a legacy defined by resilience, structure, and championship ambition. As the organization prepares for the next VCT season, the foundation he built will remain a central pillar of RRQ Valorant’s identity.
