Ava "Florescent" Eugene takes a break from competing in VCT 2025

Apeks Announces Florescent’s Retirement from 2025 VCT Season

Apeks recently announced that Ava “Florescent” Eugene will officially step away from competing for the remainder of the 2025 VCT season.

According to a post on her personal page, Florescent stated she wants to focus on family matters and take time to rest after a long stretch of non-stop competition from 2024 to the present. While several VCT teams have expressed interest in acquiring her contract, competing is no longer a priority for the 2006-born prodigy. Florescent has not set a date for her return to professional VALORANT.

Florescent is widely regarded as a standout duelist, known for her impressive ACS and K/D ratios while playing her signature agents, Jett and Raze. She played a crucial role in her teams’ successes, securing back-to-back Game Changers Championships in 2023 and 2024, and earning MVP honors at the 2024 Game Changers Championship. Notably, Florescent also made history as the first Game Changers player to compete in a VCT International League.

With her departure, Apeks will now need to find a replacement as they prepare for the upcoming EMEA Stage 2.
