After an intense series of matches in the first week of the Valorant Champions Tour 2025 - Americas Kickoff Week 1, it was time for the first lower bracket rounds. The losing teams from the last week fought against each other with the aim of staying alive in the tournament. Week 2 of the Americas Kickoff comprised four best-of-three knockout games.
The Americas partner teams are competing for the precious VCT circuit points and one of two tickets to Bangkok, Thailand, for the VCT 2025: Masters Bangkok. The top two teams will qualify for the Masters event and play the grand finals on 8th February 2025.

The first game of the week was between FURIA and Evil Geniuses. Despite losing to LOUD, Evil Genuises bounced back against FURIA and started strong on their first map, Abyss. EG took an early lead and consolidated it into a map win with a 13-7 scoreline. Evil Genuises carried their momentum on the map of Fracture, where they decimated FURIA in the first half with a 10-2 scoreline. Despite FURIA’s effort in the second half, EG managed to lock the map with the 13-7 scoreline and won the game to continue their journey in the Kickoff.
For the second game, Cloud9 went against MIBR, which ended up being a close matchup. Cloud9 started strong by winning the first map of Lotus with a 13-7, thanks to OXY and v1c’s ‘aggressive stance. MIBR retaliated on the second map of Abyss by destroying C9, which was led by aspas and won the map with a 13-10 scoreline. MIBR carried their momentum in the decider map of Pearl and won the map with a 13-7 scoreline.

On the week’s second day, the two North American giants, NRG Esports and 100 Thieves, went against each other for an intense best-of-three game. On the first map of Lotus, none of the teams were ready to give up, which resulted in overtime. 100 Thieves clinched the game in their hands by winning the first overtime and taking the lead in the series. NRG bounced back on their map pick, Pearl, as mada took charge of NRG’s attack. With his 26 frags and support from s0m, NRG won the map of Pearl with a 13-9 scoreline. NRG continued their winning streak on the decider map, Bind, where mada and Verno led NRG’s way to a 13-9 win, helping them stay alive in the tournament.

In the final game of the week, 2Game Esports went against KRU Esports. KRU looked determined, and 2Game Esports couldn’t do much against them. KRU started the best-of-three series with a dominating 13-3 victory on 2Game’s map pick, Abyss. 2Game couldn’t load their defences in the second map of Split, resulting in a brutal 13-2 loss. With the loss, 2Game had to go home without winning a single map in the Kickoff.
