Riot Games China have announced the VALORANT Evolution Series, a year-long tournament designed to provide competitive opportunities for non-core rosters and teams not qualifying for international events. The series will kick off with Act 1, running from February 8 to February 16, and aims to bridge the competitive gap between the VCT CN league and international tournaments.
The Evolution Series is a standalone tournament circuit created to enhance the development of Chinese VALORANT teams. It provides a platform for academy rosters, substitutes, and non-qualifying teams to stay competitive during the international OFF//SEASON.
This series does not contribute to VCT points or affect CN League standings but emphasizes fostering talent, building team depth, and maintaining competitive momentum in the region.
The Evolution Series consists of:
Act 1: February 8–16
Act 2: May 15–25
Act 3: August 28–September 7
Epilogue: November 19–23
Tournament Format
Each act of the Evolution Series follows a single-elimination bracket, ensuring high-stakes matches. The format reduces pressure on teams while maintaining a thrilling viewer experience.
Seeding:
The top four non-qualified teams from the VCT CN League are seeded directly into the Quarterfinals. For Act 1, these are BLG, DRG, FPX, and XLG.
Act 1's top-seeded teams are BLG, DRG, FPX, XLG; they will be seeded in the Quarterfinals.
EDG and TE, who qualified for the Bangkok Masters, will participate with non-core rosters from the first round.
Matches Format:
BO3 for all matches except:
BO5 for the Third-Place Match and Grand Final.
Offline and Online Phases:
First Rounds & Quarterfinals: February 8–11, is set to be Online.
Semifinals & Finals: February 14–16, is set to be LAN, at the VALORANT Arena.

Scoring and the Evolution Epilogue
Teams will accumulate Evolution Points based on their performance in Acts 1, 2, and 3. The top-scoring teams at the end of the three acts will qualify for the Evolution Epilogue in November, where the ultimate champion of the 2025 Evolution Series will be crowned.
