VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 Masters Toronto Day 3 Preview: Who Will Qualify For Playoffs?

Following the completion of all games on day 2 of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025: Masters Toronto, the draw for the fixtures was set up. There were two pots, one consisting of teams that won their first match and another with the teams that lost. Following the draw, the matches of the third day of the Masters Toronto were confirmed. The winners of these games will secure a spot in the playoffs stage of the event. Let's take a look at these games and see which team will secure their spot.

VALORANT Masters Toronto Day 3 Preview: Gen.G vs Paper Rex Again!

Suppose there is one thing ubiquitous within VALORANT Esports, it's teams from VCT Pacific facing off against each other during international tournaments. During VALORANT Masters Bangkok, we saw this between T1 and DRX. Now we see the rematch between Gen.G and Paper Rex, two teams that took VCT by storm. In their previous matches, they defeated their opponents with a score of 13-1 on a given map.

The last time these two teams faced off against each other was during VCT Pacific Stage One. In the Pacific Stage one matchup, Gen.G secured the win with a score of 2-1. Since that match, Paper Rex had added PatMan to their roster, with Mindfreak on the bench. One thing to keep in mind here is that both teams have proven their mettle on an international level.

If there are two players from each team that fans must keep an eye on, it's Jinggg and t3xture. They have become the star duelist on their teams with different mechanics in mind. Jinggg is a duelist who showcases his talent with the mobility of his agents, like his Raze manoeuvres on Pearl against Team Heretics. Previously, he used to pick Phoenix on this map. On the other hand, its t3xture is that of a player who has mastered the chaotic output methodically. Honestly, this feels like it will go to map three, but the winner of this game will be Gen.G.

Sentinels vs Bilibili Gaming

On paper, this fixture is quite one-sided, but the storyline for this is quite different. While Sentinels dominated against Wolves Esports, Bilibili Gaming showed resilience against Team Liquid. After winning map one, the team had a close match on the map of Split but lost, making many feel Team Liquid might secure the comeback. Instead, Bilibili Gaming pulled their socks up and secured the victory 2-1.

Going into this match, Bilibili Gaming are the underdogs while Sentinels carry all the pressure on their backs. The thing going in favour of Sentinels is the international performance of Bilibili Gaming. During VALORANT Champions 2024, they finished in the bottom 3. Now, against Sentinels, they will be facing off against one of the best teams to play on the international stage. What works in favour of Bilibili Gaming is their explosive nature in winning rounds on attack. On defence, we have seen the team fall short multiple times. 

This game will all depend on the first map. If Bilibili is on the attack, then they stand a higher chance of winning. If they don't, one can expect a clean sweep by the Sentinels, winning the series 2-0 and securing their spot in the playoffs.
