The MLBB Mid-Season Cup 2025 Committee has officially disqualified North America's S8UL Esports from participating in the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup (MSC) at the Esports World Cup 2025, following a breach of official tournament rules. With S8UL's disqualification, Area 77 will replace them in the Mid-Season Cup 2025.

Players Jang "Hoon" Seong-hun and Michael "MobaZane" Cosgun were found in violation of the MSC Penalty Index after they participated in a competing mobile MOBA event. According to MSC regulations, any involvement in competitor titles' events, livestreams, or activities that provide exposure to those games is strictly prohibited.

Despite multiple opportunities to reconsider their decision and preserve their team's eligibility, S8UL opted to proceed. As a result, both players were disqualified effective immediately, rendering Team S8UL unable to meet the tournament's minimum roster requirements. MSC 2025 committee cited:

Section 3.1.1.: Each team must have "at least 5 players ("starter") and 1 substitute player and 1 coach". Section 5.2.3.: Teams' player roster need to be the same as the team that qualified for MSC in MPL or local qualifications, unless there is a force majeure before the roster lock date that necessitates a change...

Following these rulings, the MSC 2025 slot previously held by S8UL will now be awarded to Area 77, the runner-up of the NACT Spring 2025. The MSC Committee concluded the statement by reaffirming its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the competition and upholding the standards of MLBB Esports.
