PMWC 2025 Group Stage Summary: Top 8 Teams Advance to Finals

The group stage of PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025 at the Esports World Cup has come to an end, and the top 8 teams have managed to secure a spot in the finals. With 121 points, Alter Ego Ares were the first ones to make it to the finals, and right behind them, 4Thrives Esports secured their spot with 111 points.
Each group had 12 matches to make it to the top of the points table, and the Indian team, AxTMG, wasn't able to make it to the finals. However, they will be playing in the survival week alongside the remaining teams, giving them one last chance to secure a spot in the finals. Here is how the group stage unfolded.

The 18th match of the group stage was a game-changer for Team AxTMG. After a fierce battle with Weibo Gaming and got a much-needed chicken dinner. While the former finished in 15th place, this performance showed that despite being out of the international scene for so long, India can take on the best of the best teams from across the globe. The top 8 teams have made it to the finals, while the remaining teams will compete in the Survival Stage. From there, only the top 8 will move on to the finals, which will take place from 1-3 August 2025. When we have our top 16 teams, they will compete for a chunk of the 3,050,000 USD prize pool.
