M80 has parted ways with head coach Matheus ‘Budega’ Figueiredo and team manager Igor Vivas following a heated post-match incident that resulted in Budega receiving a two-year ban from all BLAST-operated Rainbow Six Siege events.

The controversy erupted after M80’s 2-1 loss to DarkZero Esports at the Six Invitational on February 9th. Ubisoft awarded a crucial fourth-round victory to DarkZero, citing M80’s rule violations despite prior warnings. Furious, Budega confronted the DarkZero squad post-match, with his outburst even caught in the background of a live interview.
BLAST quickly investigated the incident and responded with heavy penalties. Budega was suspended until after the 2027 Six Invitational, M80 was fined $10,000, and Vivas received a minor misconduct penalty.
With their team under scrutiny, M80 made the tough decision to part ways with both Budega and Vivas, issuing a statement:
"Today we say goodbye to two of the key pillars of our Rainbow Six Siege program over the last two years. We owe much to the work @budegadeleao and @VivasR6 put in and want to say thank you and good luck in the future."
The timing couldn’t be worse for M80. After losing to DarkZero, they suffered a 2-0 defeat to CAG Osaka, eliminating them from the Six Invitational. What started as a promising run ended in disaster, both competitively and behind the scenes.
This is the first major ban in R6 for 2025, following the 2024 betting scandal that saw two Argentinian players suspended. With a $3 million prize pool still at stake, the Six Invitational 2025 continues to bring drama—both in and out of the server.
