DSG Announces Departure from VALORANT Challengers SEA

Disguised (DSG) has officially parted ways with its VALORANT roster, marking their exit from the VALORANT Challengers SEA.

In an official announcement, DSG explained their decision:

"As of today, DSG will be exiting the Valorant Challengers League SEA. With Riot's recent partnership with SOOP for the SEA League, the exclusivity clause prevents co-streaming on other platforms. This would mean that we would not be able to stream our games for the next 10 months, until our team qualifies for Ascension. It was a new and amazing experience stepping into the SEA region, and we appreciate the players' hard work and dedication along with the endless fan support. We know they have a bright future ahead of them and hope the boys can find a new home."

DSG entered the APAC VALORANT scene on January 25, 2024, by joining Challengers Malaysia/Singapore (MY/SG). Finishing 3rd place in Split 1, the team made significant roster changes. These changes paid off as they redeemed themselves in Split 2, securing a victory and earning qualification for Ascension 2024, the gateway to the VCT Pacific League. At Ascension, DSG fell short, finishing 5th-6th after losing to BOOM Esports.

In late 2024, Riot Games restructured the Southeast Asian VALORANT ecosystem by merging its sub-regions into a unified league called Challengers SEA. According to sources, SOOP (formerly AfreecaTV) was brought on as the league’s exclusive organizer under a four-year deal with Riot Games, covering 100% of the league’s operational costs in exchange for exclusive streaming rights on their platform.

DSG competed in the inaugural Challengers SEA, which was Split 3 of 2024 and the first event under the new structure. Although Split 3 held no stakes, DSG demonstrated their dominance by winning the tournament.

Despite DSG’s exit, the roster has confirmed they will stick together and compete in Split 1 under the same lineup while seeking a new organization to represent.

The roster includes:

  • Ngô “crazyguy” Công Anh

  • John “JA” Arone

  • Rodman “Vera” Yap

  • Chang “wayne” Wayne

  • Tidus “STYRON” Goh

DSG’s departure marks the end of their chapter in SEA VALORANT, a journey that began with regional aspirations and evolved into competing on an international stage. Their victories in MY/SG Split 2 and Challengers SEA Split 3 highlight their ability to adapt and excel in high-pressure environments.

While DSG transitions out of the scene, their former roster remains committed to continuing their competitive journey, ready to represent a new organization and leave their mark in the upcoming Split 1.
