One of the biggest surprises of VALORANT Champions 2025 has been DRX, who have delivered an incredible performance, sending home title favorites such as G2 Esports and MIBR. On October 3, the Korean squad added another major contender to their list, defeating Paper Rex 2–0 in the series.

DRX vs Paper Rex: Lower Bracket Clash at Champions 2025

Paper Rex started strong on Ascent, taking the first half with a solid defense to build a 9–3 lead. But after the side switch, DRX began their comeback led by Song “HYUNMIN” Hyun-min and Kang “BeYN” Ha-bin, closing the gap from the second pistol round. Although PRX reached map point, the Korean squad pushed the game into overtime and secured a 15–13 victory.

On Lotus, DRX took the opening two rounds, and although Paper Rex briefly pulled ahead, the Korean squad regained control with an aggressive attack, entering halftime with a 7–5 lead. After the break, PRX struggled against a solid defense that consistently denied their plants. Even a clutch from Jinggg that looked like it could spark momentum wasn’t enough, as Kim “MaKo” Myeong-kwan and No “freeing” Ha-jun closed out the series with a 13–8 win.

DRX vs Paper Rex Highlights Their Miracle Run

The Korean squad qualified for the world championship thanks to Talon’s loss to Rex Regum Qeon in Stage 2, which gave them the Champions Points needed to secure the fourth seed from VCT Pacific. At VALORANT Champions, they have shown a completely different face, dropping only one match in the group stage. Despite starting playoffs with a loss to Fnatic, they fought through the lower bracket and are now guaranteed at least a top-three finish.

DRX’s next challenge will be Fnatic, who fell 2–0 to NRG on October 3, sending the North American squad straight to the grand final. The playoffs continue on October 4 with the lower bracket final, a best-of-five series that will be broadcast live on the official VALORANT Champions Tour channels on YouTube and Twitch.
