With the completion of the Swiss Stage, the playoffs of Valorant Masters Toronto took center stage. FNATIC and Gen.G faced off in a classic rematch, giving fans flashbacks of Masters Shanghai. Conversely, the first seed of VCT Pacific RRQ faced off against the dark horses of the tournament: Wolves Esports. Here is everything that went down during day 7 of Valorant Masters Toronto.

Valorant Masters Toronto Day 7 Recap: Gen.G vs FNATIC Delivers on the Big Stage

FNATIC vs Gen.g Valorant MastersToronto

These two teams last faced off at the 2024 Valorant Masters Shanghai. Leading up to the tournament, Gen.G had finished 2nd at Valorant Masters Madrid while FNATIC failed to qualify for the event. FNATIC had won their first Valorant Masters trophy in 2023 in Tokyo, while Gen.G went on to win Valorant Masters Shanghai, being the first team from the Pacific region to do so.

With a rich storyline backing each team, the former Valorant Masters winners faced off in what many might call one of the best matches in the tournament. Map 1 was played on the map of Haven, where FNATIC proved why they were the top seed from VCT EMEA by taking the lead 8-4 before moving to the offensive side. In the second half, Gen.G showcased why they are the team to watch out for after the nerf to Tejo. Gen.G won 9 defensive rounds, with only one being by defusing the spike. They won the first map with a close 13-11 scoreline.

Map 2 is where the script was flipped, as Ash from Gen.G picked Tejo. This was the first time the Colombian agent was picked during Valorant Masters Toronto. Gen.G dominated the first half, taking the lead 9-3. Unfortunately, they couldn't capitalize on this momentum as the tournament venue suffered a power outage. This resulted in a break of over 30 minutes between the first and second halves. When the players returned and the match was resumed, FNATIC regained their composure and made an incredible comeback from 7-12 to 14-12, taking us to map 3.

Map 3 had one standout player, and that was t3xture. While playing Neon on the defensive half, t3xture had a KDA of 16/4/1, seemingly incapable of setting a foot wrong. The only way to kill the Korean duelist was to double or triple team him. On the last round of the half, Operator in hand, t3xture slid around the map, getting three kills with the sniper.

With this momentum shift, Gen.G went on to win Map 3 and defeated FNATIC with a scoreline of 2-1. The map of Sunset was by far the most one-sided map these two teams have ever played against each other. Before this, each map had a minimum of 23 rounds played, with the losing team winning at least 10 rounds.

With this victory, all the teams that finished as the first seed from their region were knocked down to the lower bracket. All the teams that qualified through the Swiss Stage are in the upper bracket. Below is the list of the upcoming fixtures of VALORANT Masters Toronto:
