"BMPS 2025 Will Be Our Last Dance": Exclusive Interview With 4Merical Esports and BMPS Day 1 Recap

Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series is the second official tournament of 2025 by Krafton India. This year, the grand finals will take place as a 3-day LAN event in Delhi, India. The top 16 teams from India will face off against each other to claim INR 1.25 Crore for their team and the title of BMPS champions.
Day 1 of BMPS concluded with 4Merical Esports securing the top spot on the table. They ended the day with 61 points and three chicken dinners to their name. Following the matches of day 1, we had the opportunity to speak with the players Reaper and Dragon from 4Merical Esports.
“It's All Or Nothing” Exclusive Interview With 4Merical Esports at BMPS 2025
We have seen both of you (Reaper and Dragon) play in previous official BGMI tournaments. How was the feeling before day 1 of BMPS 2025?
Dragon: Actually. We wanted to qualify for BGIS, which took place in Kolkata this year, but due to a few mistakes that we made during the Grind phase of the tournament, we got knocked out. While the team was formed just a month before BGIS 2025, we made a lot of mistakes as a team, not as individual players. We just weren’t performing well. Thus, the goal for Day 1 was simply to give it our best and show everyone how much we have improved since then.
Reaper: Actually, this would be the last LAN for our teammate Beardbaba and me. This is because we will soon be moving away from esports to pursue higher education. In our heads, we just knew it was this or nothing. This tournament is legit do or die for us. In a way, this is the last dance for this team of ours.
Talking about day one, any thoughts about your team's performance today?
Dragon: The truth is that usually, we play awfully during the first day of an official LAN. Every single time, the first match on day 1, we end up with zero points to our name. Even today, we just got one point in the first match. Honestly, I had a feeling that our team would make the comeback, but didn’t expect us to get three chicken dinners today and play that well. Our style of gameplay is to secure as many points as possible at a given moment. Even if we are in 1st place, we will do everything in our power to get more points.
Like you said, your team got three chicken dinners today. How did the team morale change after each Chicken Dinner?
Reaper: After obtaining the first Chicken Dinner, we were a few points away from the first-placed team. If I recall correctly, they had around 31 points from just two matches. In our heads, all we thought about was catching up to them and making sure the first Chicken Dinner didn’t get to our heads.
Dragon: After the second one, we were happy but knew that we could get complacent. The day wasn’t over just yet; there were three more matches to go. After we got the second chicken Dinner, the hunger for the third one increased immensely.
Reaper: The third Chicken Dinner was much-needed. We wanted to dominate Day 1 of BMPS 2025. Ending the day by winning the final game of the day helped us achieve our goal for the day.
Tomorrow marks the second day of this tournament. Do you already feel the expectation of replicating this performance to keep your spot at the top?
Reaper: Uh, we don't care about the expectations. We want to improve our game from Day 1 to Day 2. We scored sixty today. We want to score 70 or 80 tomorrow! The goal is to get better on a daily basis.
Top 8 Teams After Day 1: BMPS 2025 Day 1 Recap
Day one of BMPS 2025 was all about the lesser-known teams leaving their mark. The first game was won by Los Hermanos Esports, securing 16 finish points. Games two and three were won by 4Merical Esports in dominant fashion, awarding them 5 and 10 finish points respectively.
Game four was a close affair, but TMG Esports secured the win, adding 15 finish points to their name. 4TR Official secured the next Chicken Dinner with 10 finishes during game five, with K9 Esports finishing in 2nd place with 11 finishes.
The opening day of BMPS 2025 culminated in 4Merical Esports securing their third Chicken Dinner of the day with 10 finish points. Below are the standings of the top 8 teams following the completion of BMPS 2025 Day 1:
