Bilibili Gaming’s Valorant team now has a new identity. Earlier today, the organization announced a brand new naming partnership with the Huadu District, a prefecture-level city of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong, China. It is now the first professional Valorant team tied to the city of Guangzhou. Under this partnership, the team will now compete as “Guangzhou Huadu BLG,” reflecting its long-term presence in the Huadu District.
"We aim to promote the integrated development of culture, sports, and tourism" - Bilibili Gaming on Rebranding their Valorant Squad to “Guangzhou Huadu BLG”

As per the organization's post on BiliBili, this move goes beyond just a name change and represents a larger effort from local authorities to turn Guangzhou into a key hub for the esports industry. The focus is on using esports to bring together culture, tourism, and technology to boost the city’s reputation as a modern international destination.
The organization is also hosting a giveaway for Chinese users who follow and share the announcement post. Fans stand a chance to win:
One Logitech G Pro Wireless third-generation mouse
1 BLG team signed jersey
1 Guangzhou fan meet (including domestic round-trip air tickets and 2 nights in a Guangzhou hotel)"
This type of city-based partnership is already common in other parts of Chinese esports. In League of Legends, teams like Shanghai EDG, Suzhou LNG, and Hangzhou LGD have all worked closely with their home cities. The Overwatch League also followed this model with teams such as Guangzhou Charge and Shanghai Dragons, helping to build stronger connections between fans and their local teams.
The current lineup for “Guangzhou Huadu BLG” is:
Wang 'whz' Haozhe
Liu 'Knight' Yuxiang
Lu 'Levius' Yinzhong
Marcus 'nephh' Tan Kai Wen
Wang 'rushia' Xiaojie
With BLG partnering with Guangzhou Huadu, Valorant continues to grow in China with increasing city support. Guangzhou Huadu BLG will debut under this name at Valorant Masters Toronto on June 7th against Team Liquid in an exciting international matchup.
