Battlegrounds India Series is the first official tournament of BGMI Esports of 2025. The tournament concluded yesterday in the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan in Kolkata, West Bengal. Team Versatile secured the championship after an incredible performance on Days 2 and 3. Here is everything you need to know about day 1 of BGIS 2025.

BGIS 2025 Day 3 Recap: Team Versatile Reigns Supreme
The BGIS 2025 Grand Finals is a 3-day lan tournament. The 16 remaining teams will face off against each other to win the BGIS trophy. This year, the tournament boasts its highest prize pool to date, exceeding $370,000. One thing to note before the recap is the venue of the event. The venue is equipped with LED boards throughout. This is primarily done to showcase specific crucial stats of most players at a given moment to the audience. On the last day of the event, infrared bands were also distributed to select members of the audience. During certain given moments, these bands would light up in the audience to provide an immersive experience.
Day 3 of BGIS 2025 began similarly to Day 2, with Team Versatile securing a Chicken Dinner. This was no ordinary Chicken Dinner as the team went on to get 27 points from just one game. This pushed them from fourth place to 1st with a lead of 10 points against Godlike Esports. Thus building the narrative throughout the day that if Godlike Esports could retake the lead and win.
Heading into the final few matches, the table was taking shape with the top four teams. At a given moment, it felt like all any of the top 4 teams would require is a chicken dinner to secure the gold. The Last Match Of BGIS 2025
The last game of BGIS day 3 was one for the ages. We saw moments where both Team Versatile and Godlike Esports could have been knocked out earlier. We saw an incredible bit of aggression from Orangutan Esports as they tried to secure as many finishes as possible. Earlier in the match, we saw Godlike Esports lose to Jonathan Gaming, resulting in the remaining players carrying the pressure to succeed on their shoulders.
There was one moment that secured the championship for Team Versatile, and it was Aquanox's clutch performance against the Bot Army. He won an incredible 1v3 situation to help his team live another day and secure four more finish points, helping them win the trophy.
In an interview after lifting the trophy, Saumraj, the IGL of Team Versatile, had this to say:
“I’m still waiting for a comeback from the self-proclaimed king, Jonathan. You can’t build a kingdom with MVPs; you need to win trophies to set the kingdom.”
With this victory, Saumraj becomes a 2 time BGIS champion (2021 and 2025). On the other hand, Spower becomes a two-time official BGMI tournament champion (BMPS 2023 and BGIS 2025). Another point to note is that Sheek becomes the first female BGMI player to win a BGIS trophy ever.
